honey cadence tracks:

  1. sweet nuance
  2. honey cadence
  3. moving still
  4. minding play
  5. hidden anticipation
  6. slight nuance

About honey cadence:

Tone and variation of timbre are some of my favorite aspects of the guitar.

With melodies floating in my head, I aimed to highlight these unique traits,

while creating meditative intimacy.

Composed in December and January, the six pensive solos of honey cadence are

my first compositions to be recorded.

Some pieces began as improvisations and others were born out of a particular gestural idea.

Each title has a connection to music as well as general language,

i.e., ‘anticipation’ musical ornament and linguistically expresses expectation or prediction.

After the success of A Guitar Holiday,

I trusted Grammy winning producer Kabir Sehgal as a partner in the project.

I am grateful for the amazing mixing and mastering of Steve Hunt.

Thanks to Alex Fedorov for realizing my cover art vision and

transforming my Fanton D’Andon guitar photo.

May the album add some sweetness to your life.

Musically,
Aaron

Videos – Guitar Salon International

On April 10, I had the pleasure of visiting Guitar Salon International in Santa Monica, California.

This was my third time recording videos for GSI.

I collaborated with  videographer Felix Salazar for a set of six videos on six different guitars.

Starting April 18, one video a week will be released on their YouTube Channel.

I performed my own composition sweet nuance, two pieces by John Cage, and three of my arrangements of J.S. Bach.

I will add the videos to this blog post as they are published.

Your comments, here or on Youtube, are greatly appreciated!

Anthology Review Soundboard – Nights Transfigured + Hushed

Very excited to see that the New Lullaby Project anthologies ‘Nights Transfigured’ and ‘Hushed’ were reviewed by Peter Yates in the venerable guitar journal Soundboard. I am overjoyed for the attention given to the project, the composers, and the wonderful American Composers Alliance, who I partnered with for the two volumes. More to come!!

The anthologies are available via American Composers Alliance website or my Bandcamp page.
